Moving on …

Posted: 09/02/2012 in Uncategorized

To all those who read this blog, I’ve made the decision to move my blog to a self-hosted site. The new address is I’ll explain over there why.  I will be shutting this down in a few weeks. I hope to see you at my new address.  If not, I hope that I have encouraged you in some way in your life and/or ministry.

Thanks for stopping by.

Grace and Peace.

Here is what caught my eye from around the web this past week.  Be challenged and encouraged.

The D6 Family blog had a great post by Timothy Paul Jones reminding those of us in “Family Ministry” what things to keep in mind so that your ministry is incredible.

Sam Luce had a great post on keeping the gospel clear when communicating with kids.

Jared Kennedy had a great list of children’s ministry music resources.

Kevin Scott compiled a list of listening skills for a sustainable marriage.

Ryan Huguley had a great post on consistent prayer.  (A much needed read for me personally.)

Alex Chediak pointed out a resource by Kay Willis Wyma I’m  interested in checking out dealing with youth entitlement.

Here is the most recent batch of tweets that caught my attention.

The gospel: The good news that you don’t have to do anything to be forgiven & loved, Jesus did it for you.

This weeks quote from a book I’m still reading comes from Licensed to Kill (A Field Manual for Mortifying Sin) by Brian G. Hedges.

Topic: The nature of sin:

We need to meditate on the true nature of sin until we load our consciences with its guilt and inflame our hearts with a longing to be liberated from its hold on our lives. As long as we can either justify our failures with rationalizations and excuses, or rest content with unrepentant sin and low levels of holiness, we will not be deeply determined to give sin the death blow. (pg. 54)
